The Library Store is a business arm of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles (LFLA). The LFLA is committed to the security of all transactions that occur on its websites lfla.org and shop.lfla.org (the “Site”). The LFLA aims to protect the privacy of our consumers when they interact with any of our digital platforms (website, social media, email marketing, etc) heretofore referred to as “Service.” The LFLA does collect personal information, such as names, mail and email addresses, phone numbers, and social handles. This privacy policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your information when you use the Service.
SECTION 1 - HOW WE COLLECT YOUR INFORMATION
When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations).
We use your personal data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Additionally, as you use the Service, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.” Device information includes:

Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Facebook Pay, PayPal, and Shop Pay) , email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”
HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
- Communicate with you;
- Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
- We may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates; and
- We will also send you general emails about the work of the Library Foundation of Los Angeles and how you can support the Los Angeles Public Library.
- We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
- We also use the Device Information that we collect to advertise and retarget products to you.
- We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. - Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.
SECTION 2 - CONSENT
By sharing your personal information through purchase through the store or asking us to add your email to our email list, you are consenting to communication from the LFLA. However, you are free to opt-out of communication from the LFLA at any time.

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service. When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
