Features original artwork by Los Angeles artist, Brenda Chi, created for Los Angeles Public Library's 2023 Summer Reading Challenge.

The theme for the Summer Reading Challenge artwork was “My L.A.” and I wanted to make sure that I could incorporate different parts of Los Angeles into the art. It was a huge challenge since Los Angeles is just that big, and we have so many visually unique communities. Of course, the main focus is L.A. Chinatown, but I wanted the art to connect to more Angelenos and have things that were specifically “L.A.” like the combination of having the Griffith Observatory, the mountain lion [P-22] and the taco stand.
