Books Invite All; They Constrain None—Hartley Burr Alexander, inscribed above Central Library's Hope Street tunnel entrance

This exclusive t-shirt reads, "Books," a reference to an inscription over the Hope Street tunnel entrance to Central Library. This quote is one of many that are part of Hartley Burr Alexander's central theme for the building: The Light of Learning. The iconic typeface includes interlocking O's, forming an infinity-like symbol, emphasizing how books can open up an infinite world to all.
